What to do in the event of a Liability Claim

Employers' Liability

You must tell us as soon as possible about any RIDDOR reportable injury, or any other workplace incident you believe may give rise to a claim.

Ensure that any investigations & evidence gathering are done in a timely fashion.

Any claim correspondence received from an employee or their representative should be forwarded to us immediately and unanswered. You should not enter into correspondence with any claimant as this could prejudice the Insurers position.

Under MOJ Reforms, the vast majority of employee claim notifications will now be sent direct to your Employer's Liability insurer electronically.

The timescales for dealing with such notifications are very short, so, if you receive a Claim Notification Form, or any correspondence requesting details of your Employer's Liability insurer, you must send this to us immediately by e-mail.

Public Liability

Tell us as soon as possible about any damage to Third Party property, or injury to a Third Party person.

Do not admit responsibility for any damage or injury.

Ensure any investigations & evidence gathering are done in a timely fashion.

Any claim correspondence received from a Third Party should be forwarded to us immediately and unanswered. You should not enter into correspondence with any claimant as this could prejudice the Insurers position.

Under MOJ reforms, any Third Party injury claim will usually be sent to you in the form of a Claim Notification Form.

The timescales for dealing with such notifications are very short, so, if you receive a Claim Notification Form, or any correspondence requesting details of your Public Liability insurer, you must send this to us immediately by e-mail.
